The online reservation fee charged is less than through other methods such as by phone or in person.

Our staff will be accessing the same database with the same limitations, so that there are no advantages to phoning in as opposed to booking Online.

Lakeview Park Campground is owned and operated by the Town of Lake Cowichan.

Power and water are now available on sites 2 through to 28 and from 32 through to 35. There is a $7 additional charge for these powered sites.

Wireless internet is now available at the campground.


Site 36 has been converted to individual sites.

Free onsite childrens programs and family movie nights will be provided this year.

The old boat launch which was located beside the swimming area has been closed for safety reasons.

FEES

Reservation and campsite fees must be paid by VISA, MASTERCARD, Cash or Interac at the time of booking. No cheques accepted.

CAMPSITE FEE

The campsite fee is levied on a per party, per vehicle basis (see Camping Party Size definition). The campsite fee at Lakeview Park is now $30.00 (including GST) per camping party per site. At the time of reservation, payment of only one camping party per site is required (except for the two group sites which have a three camping party minimum booking) any additional charges per site (e.g. extra vehicles) will be charged on the arrival date.

OTHER RESERVATIONS

For all Other Reservations (By phone and in Person) there is a non-refundable fee of $10.00 (including GST) per camping party/ per night (to a maximum of three nights). Reservation fees are not refundable. These fees cover the operational costs and ensures the reservation service pays for itself and is not subsidized by the taxpayers.

OFF-SEASON CAMPSITE FEE

The off-season campsite fee is levied on a per party, per vehicle basis (see Camping Party Size definition). The off-season campsite fee is $20.00 (includes GST) per camping party per site. Off-season camping runs from the end of Labour Day long weekend in September to just before the May long weekend. There are no reservation fees charged for off-season camping.

Unless otherwise noted, reservations during the off season can only be made for weekends. Weekdays are on a drop in basis only.

POWER SITE SURCHARGE

Sites 2 through to 28 and from 32 through to 35 have power and water. The campsite fee is $7.00 more for these sites. ($37.00 or $27.00 if during off-season)

BOAT MOORAGE FEE

There is a $8.00 per day moorage fee to tie up a boat at the Lakeview Campsite wharf. Fees are paid any time after arrival to the Campsite Attendant, on a first-come first-served basis, after-which you will receive a reservation tag. The fee covers moorage up until 12 noon the following day. Multiple days may be paid for at once. The Cowichan Lake Marina also has moorage available (250)749-3530. The Marina is only a few minutes from the campsite, and allows advance reservations. Boat trailers are to be parked only in the day parking area. The access gate to this parking area is locked in the evenings.

CHANGING A RESERVATION

If you wish to change your reservation, there is a non-refundable change fee of $10.00 (including GST) per reservation. You must call the campground reservation service during business hours at 749-3350, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (749-6681 after September long weekend) at least 15 days prior to your arrival date. Less than 15 days notice will constitute a cancellation.

CANCELLING A RESERVATION

Please note that for any cancellation, all reservation and change fees are non-refundable. For online reservations a fee of $20.00 per site will be deducted from your refund for each confirmed reservation number. All refunds will be issued by cheque from the Town of Lake Cowichan. No refund will be given if the cancellation is made less than 15 days prior to the arrival date. The cancellation must be made in writing to the Town office by fax (250-749-3900) or email (general@lakecowichan.ca) 15 days prior to the arrival date. No exceptions will be made.

CAMPING PARTY SIZE

Due to wear and tear, maintenance and conservation factors within our parks, limits must be placed on the party size - the number of people and vehicles each campsite can accommodate.

In Lakeview Park, a camping party is defined as follows:

  • One to four persons 19 years of age or older.

  • A maximum of eight persons including children (18 years of age and younger).
  • Vehicles per Camping Party:

One vehicle and trailer. Either one (but not both) may be an RV.

Only two vehicles per site. RVs and trailers count as one vehicle.

  • Campsite maximum:

One camping party per site. (Except for designated group sites.)

There will be NO exceptions to Camping Party size and vehicle numbers.

RESERVATIONS

MAKING A RESERVATION

When making a reservation, you will be issued a reservation confirmation number. Please have this number available for any changes or cancellations, and on arrival at the campground.

Reservations must be made at least two days prior to your arrival date at the campground. Book early as the campground can fill up quickly.

LONG WEEKENDS

If you are booking a campsite on a statutory long weekend, you will be required to reserve a minimum of three nights.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Check-in time is after 1:00 p.m.
  • Firewood available from attendant - $5.00 per bundle
  • Campground gates closed between 10PM & 7AM
  • Excessive noise is not permitted
  • No lifeguard on duty
  • The Town accepts no liability for damages or injuries and is not responsible for stolen property

RULES

  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED IN AREAS OTHER THAN NUMBERED CAMPSITES
  • NOISE TO BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM from 10PM to 7AM
  • Dogs MUST be kept on a leash at all times. Owners responsible for picking up and disposing of pet droppings in garbage cans.
  • Absolutely no dogs allowed on the beach due to health concerns
  • Campfires are permitted in fire pits only, unless banned. Campfires must not exceed .5 meters in size and may not be left unattended.
  • Speed limit is 15 kilometres per hour
  • The use of generators is not permitted in the park.
  • No motor bike riding in park
  • Garbage should be placed in containers provided
  • No camping in areas other than in numbered sites
  • Boat trailers are to be parked only in the day parking area. The access gate to this parking area is locked in the evenings.
  • No tree cutting
  • Sewage and grey water may not be discharged into any fresh water or land. There is no sani-dump in the park, but there is one located 5 minutes away in Lake Cowichan.
  • Vehicles with boat trailers must park at the designated area on the upper parking site
