The Centre offers a wide range of educational and recreational courses for people of all ages ranging from environmental sciences including marine biology, ecology, limnology, and botany to resource management focusing on forestry and fishing, mammals, birds, astronomy, field studies and First Nations Heritage and Culture.

Visitors include school, college and university groups, corporate and non-profit groups. Invited guest lecturers, nature interpreters and guides include artists, writers, and scientific personalities from the Cowichan area and nearby universities and colleges

So, whether visitors come to discover the natural beauty of the environment or to learn more about living things, they will find programs to meet their needs and abilities.
In the spirit of adventure and knowledge, the Centre encourages and creates a flexible and relaxed atmosphere for guests to enjoy recreational activities from hiking, swimming, to birdwatching, photography, the arts and music or a trip to the Teleglobe Earth Satellite Station across the lake
