Our center is located on the shores of Lake Cowichan. This 30 km long lake is one of the largest fresh water bodies on Vancouver Island.
The Centre boasts a full service conference facility and can deliver custom-designed individual or group educational programs.
The Centre is located 96 kilometres (60 miles from Victoria or 90 minutes by road from the capital, and approximately the same distance from Nanaimo) in Central Vancouver Island, (on Highway 18 just 28 kilometres west of Duncan
The Staff
The Centre staff includes a site General Manager, an on-site program coordinator naturalist with special outdoor education qualifications, contract training specialists from nearby post-secondary institutions, as well as groundskeeping, maintenance, security, transportation, housekeeping and food preparation staff who all work as a team to ensure that each visitor has a rewarding experience.
The staff is dedicated to helping visitors experience nature in a hands-on fashion, to develop an appreciation for the natural and cultural environment, and to understand the need for wise management practices to retain these assets for the use of future generations.
